
The German Trade Show 2011 - Ananda Shipyard & Slipways Ltd has participated in the largest trade fair of a bilateral chamber in Bangladesh - at Bangabandhu International Conference Center in Dhaka from 27th to 29th October, 2011. The event was successful and we have received end no of queries from the visitors.
The trade show was inaugurated by the Honourable Minister of Commerce of Bangladesh, H.E. Md. Faruk Khan on 27th October, 2011 at 10:00 am.
The German Trade Show 2011 offers you to...inform yourself about newest developments and trends in the Bangladesh and German business scene network and make contact with business people and companies from Germany and Bangladesh discuss and learn about business relevant topics such as climate change, renewable energy and energy efficiency, and global social responsibility of companies at panels with experts, top-managers and politicians Participants.
The trade show was sold out since July - 4 months ahead of time. 70 companies and organizations from Bangladesh and Germany has presented themselves to more than 20.000 visitors. Participants include: Ananda Shipyard & Slipways Ltd, GIZ, Western Marine, Picard, BASF, The German Embassy, Pan Aviation, Dachser, Siemens, BMW, The UN World Food Program, Heidelberg Cement, DHL, KfW, Meghna Group, OTOBI, Qatar Airways, Germanischer Lloyd and many others.

Side Events
Besides the exhibition the BGCCI in cooperation with the German Embassy and GIZ was arranged side events comprising of presentations, discussions and workshops. Top managers and experts has covered topics such as climate change, environment, renewable energy and energy security, social business and corporate social responsibility etc. With Professor Muhammad Yunus and the German climate change expert Professor Wolfgang Cramer the BGCCI has two Nobel Prize winners on their podium this year. The side events target the top-managers of Bangladesh's business community.
Branding Bangladesh
The aim of the trade show was not only to strengthen the business/trade relations between Bangladesh and Germany but also to promote and enhance the image of Bangladesh as a favorable country for further investment. Bangladesh is often portrayed as a poor country of natural disasters by the western media and its strengths are often overlooked. BGCCI works towards changing that negative perception by highlighting the potentials of Bangladesh and the manifold business and investment opportunities German Trade Show Dinner Auction - German soccer jersey.
BGCCI has arranged an auction of the original German soccer jersey, personally signed by the German National Soccer Team, which defeated Argentina 4:0 at the last world cup. The money raised through the auction has gone to ICDDRB, in order to support the HIV research and treatment.
